A rosé with a peppery edge, and a Côtes du Rhône by appellation. Rose and violet over cherry, strawberry and raspberry, a squeeze of citrus, then red berries and spice on the finish.
It suits charcuterie, grilled fish, mild cheeses and chicken. The rosé for a table outside when the wind is up.
It is named for exactly that wind. The Mistral blows through Château de Gourdon's vineyards near Bollène and keeps the fruit clean and healthy. Direct-pressed and simply fermented, which is the reason it tastes of the fruit.
Medium-intense pink. Rose and violet, cherry, strawberry, raspberry, citrus and freshly ground pepper. Dry, with medium acidity and a medium body. Red berries and spice on a medium-long finish.
Mild cheeses. Grilled fish and seafood. Chicken. Charcuterie.
