We want everyone to be able to buy wine from us. If something on this site gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it.

This page says what we have done, what we know is not right yet, and how to reach a person. We wrote it ourselves rather than pasting a template, and we keep it current.

The standard we build to

We build to WCAG 2.2 at level AA. That is the international standard for websites, and it is the one UK guidance points at.

We have not been independently audited against it and we do not claim to meet it in full. That would be a claim we cannot back. It is the standard we work to, and when we fall short of it we treat that as a fault to fix.

The accessibility tools on this site

There is an accessibility button on the site. It opens a toolbar built by an app called Ez Accessibility Widget, made by EazeSoft. It lets you:

• Raise the contrast, or switch the page to greyscale
• Make the text bigger, and change the spacing and the alignment
• Highlight every link
• Have the page read aloud
• Enlarge the cursor, and use a reading line
• Turn on a profile built for low vision, for dyslexia or for seizure risk

Two honest things about that toolbar.

It sits on top of our site. It does not change how the site is built underneath. A toolbar like this helps some people enormously and does nothing at all for others, and it is not a substitute for the pages being right in the first place. We treat it as a help, not as our answer.

It is also not a compliance badge. Nobody installs an app and becomes accessible. If you hit something the toolbar cannot solve, that is ours to fix, not yours to work around.

What we believe works

Checked by us, not by an auditor.

• Text and background colours pass the AA contrast level, including on the buttons.
• Nothing is written across a photograph. Words sit next to images, never on top of them. That is a standing rule here and it exists partly for this reason.
• Every page is built for a phone first, so it works at a narrow width and it reflows when you zoom in.
• Pages use real headings in order, so you can move through them rather than read every word.
• Every product photograph carries a written description.

What is not right yet

We would rather list these than let you find them.

• No independent audit has been done. Everything above is our own check.
• We have not tested the site end to end with a screen reader, or bought something using a keyboard alone.
• The delivery charges on our Delivery page sit in tables with no column headings. A screen reader will read out the numbers without telling you what each one is for. We are fixing that.
• We have not checked every image on every page for a written description. Product photographs are done. The rest are not confirmed.
• Our journal carries older articles brought across from our previous site. They have not been checked against anything on this page.
• Checkout is built by Shopify and we do not control all of it. If something there blocks you, tell us. We will raise it with them, and we will take your order another way in the meantime.

If the website will not work for you

You do not have to use it.

Email info@tikveslondon.uk and tell us what you want. We will take the order by email, tell you the price and the delivery charge before you commit to anything, and arrange payment in a way that works for you. It costs you no more than ordering on the site.

Tell us when we get it wrong

Email info@tikveslondon.uk. It helps if you say what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and what you were using. A phone or a computer, which browser, and any assistive software. That last part tells us more than anything else.

We answer email within two working days, Monday to Friday. If it is something we can fix quickly, we tell you when it is done. If it is bigger, we tell you what we are doing and roughly when.

If you are not happy with our answer

Reply and say so. We would rather hear it.

If that does not settle it, the Equality Advisory and Support Service gives free, independent advice on the Equality Act 2010 to people in England, Scotland and Wales.

Where the law sits, as we read it

This is our reading of it. It is not legal advice, and our solicitor may correct it.

We sell to the public, so we are a service provider under the Equality Act 2010. That puts a duty on us to make reasonable adjustments, so that a disabled person is not put at a substantial disadvantage compared with anyone else. The duty is anticipatory. We are meant to think about it before you arrive, not after you complain.

The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us, because we are not a public body. That is where the familiar accessibility statement format comes from. We have borrowed the honest parts of it because they are useful, not because we are required to.

The European Accessibility Act covers businesses selling into the European Union. We do not sell into the European Union, so as we read it that Act does not reach us today. If that changes, this page changes with it.

How we keep this current

We review this page at least once a year, and again whenever we change how the site is built. Written on 13 August 2026.
