Medals belong to vintages, not to labels.

A wine wins a medal in one year, in one competition, for one vintage. Not for the label. So on every page we name which vintage won, and if the bottle we are selling is a different vintage, we say so.

This page lists every medal we claim, and every one we don't.

We count five competitions: Decanter World Wine Awards, International Wine Challenge, Mundus Vini, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and IWSC. We also list one Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards result, on one wine. Our only source is the winery's own competition register. If a medal isn't in it, we don't print it.

Where the medal belongs to a vintage we are not selling

These are real medals on wines we carry. They were won by a different vintage from the one in our shop, so we don't claim them.

• Bela Voda White. The 2024 won Silver at the International Wine Challenge 2026, and so did the 2023. We sell the 2023, so the Silver we print is the 2023's. The 2024's stays off.
• Babuna Red. The 2022 won Gold at Decanter 2026. We sell the 2023, which took Silver there. We print the Silver.
• Temjanika Luda Mara. We sell the 2025. The 2024 won Bronze at the International Wine Challenge 2025 and Bronze at IWSC 2025. Not carried over.
• Barovo Red. The 2022 and the 2019 have both won. We sell the 2021 and print only what the 2021 won.

No claim

Kratošija Classic, Smederevka Classic, T'ga za Jug, Alexandria Premium Cuvée Rosé, Jolie Balade, Fontaine du Sud and Mistral au Jardin carry no award claim. They sell on taste, place and price.

Fine print

We never use words like award-winning across the range. A medal is a fact about one bottle in one year. That's how we treat it.

Some competitions we don't count. Where a wine of ours has won at a competition outside the five above, we leave it off rather than pad the list.
