If you open a Prosecco when friends come round, this sits at that end of the shelf. It's brut, so it's dry. Pale straw in the glass, with small bubbles that keep going. White flowers and citrus first, then green apple and pear. Fresh, with a clean, fruity finish.

Pour it before dinner, when people drop round, or when there's something to celebrate. It goes with prawns, a sushi takeaway, a light salad, a soft mild cheese or a simple pasta. A fruit tart at the end works too. Serve it cold, at 6 to 8°C.

It's the first sparkling wine in the Luda Mara line. The name comes from the river that runs through Kavadarci, in the middle of the Tikveš wine region.
