Fresh and fruity for a brandy. Dried fruit first, then caramel, with coffee and dark chocolate at the end. Four years in oak, and it says so on the front of the bottle.
Pour it neat at room temperature, in a tulip or a small brandy glass. It works with dark chocolate, dried figs or the cheese board after dinner. It's the younger of the two LYXA bottles, so it's one you can open on an ordinary evening.
LYXA is a grape brandy. It's distilled from wine, not grain, and Tikveš make it in the style of armagnac. The VS spends an average of four years in Slavonian oak before it's bottled, in barrels that are fifty years old.
Produced by Tikveš Chateaux and Domaines in North Macedonia. The same house as the wines on this site. The lynx on the label is the Balkan lynx, still found in the Macedonian mountains, and where the name comes from.
VS. 40% ABV. 70cl.
