A rich white that drinks like an occasion. Pear and white peach first, then a little orange peel and vanilla. It has real weight in the glass, but citrus and green apple keep it fresh, and it finishes buttery and long.
Serve it at 10 to 12°C. Pour it with sea bass or sea bream. It stands up to roast chicken and to veal in a mushroom sauce. This is a white for the table, not just the aperitif.
This is our flagship white. Pressed straight into new French barrique and aged there for eighteen months, which is where the weight and the vanilla come from. And it rewards patience. Left alone, it moves toward honey, hazelnut and truffle. Few whites make that journey.
Bela Voda means white water. The wine comes from a small parcel of clay soil where the climate turns Mediterranean, from vines thirty-five years old. Tikveš has made wine here since 1885.
Also in our cases
Bela Voda White is in Fresh Whites, £141, where it appears twice, The Table, £159, and The Collector, £177.
Green and stone fruit, pear, white peach, subtle orange peel and vanilla. Full-bodied and dry, with medium acidity and high, integrated alcohol. Citrus, green apple and a buttery finish. With age it moves toward honey, truffle, butter and hazelnut.
Sea bass and sea bream. Chicken with vegetables. Veal in mushroom sauce.
